Professional Qualifications

EDUCATED & EXPERIENCED

  • Honors Graduate from Middle Tennessee State University with a bachelor’s degree in social work, focusing on human behavior and ethics

  • Began my service to Coffee County in 2007 as a Youth Services Officer - I worked alongside Juvenile Court and multiple state and county agencies to support at-risk youth through case management and crisis intervention.

  • For the past eleven years, I have served Coffee County as a Child Support Enforcement Specialist with the District Attorney’s Office working daily with the Circuit and Chancery Courts to establish, modify, and enforce court-ordered child support.

Alarming Current Statistics:

92% turnover rate with decades of knowledge lost resulting in slowed, inefficient service to the county

The current Circuit Court Clerk has seen 23 of 25 full time positions vacated since her appointment in 2021.

  • Staggering turnover rate of 92%* has deprived the county of decades of experience & knowledge resulting in a loss of accurate, efficient, and timely service

  • Every departure triggers a costly cycle of retraining and this hidden drain is the indirect cost of excessive turnover

  • “According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, turnover will cost an organization 33% of an employee’s total compensation (including wages and benefits)
-an employee paid ($55,000/year) x (1.25 overhead) = $68,750 total comp. – the costs of turnover is $22,688 / employee*.

DECADES OF EXPERIENCE LOST SINCE 2021

Despite salary increases, the turnover rate has increased at an alarming rate to 92% since March 2021.

Kelsie’s Vision as Circuit Court Clerk:

~Leadership that IS the High Standard~

  • APPROACHABLE

I will set the standard by being in my office with the door open, available and willing to have face-to-face conversations with the public, Judges, county departments & officials to restore the broken communication.

  • ACCOUNTABLE

Confidence isn’t built on one single leader, it is built on a stable system. I will commit to providing turnover rates, volume of cases handled and fees collected. My office will be transparent.

As the law requires, my office will keep your confidential information private and will have zero tolerance for failures to do so.

  • ACCURATE

I will implement performance measures, which are essential to meeting goals and objectives. This new approach will ensure the office functions as a cohesive, successful team maintaining and preserving accurate records.
